FRIDAY!  United States and home – DAY ONE!  It’s amazing how much sh*t piles up when you leave the country to spend time with 1.6 billion Commies.  It’s also amazing how much sh*t goes bad –like EVERYTHING in our refrigerator.  We probably should have thrown out that deep dish lasagna before we left for China in May.  The milk should have also been tossed, but of course it’s all hindsight now.

So, after hunting down some cans and bottles to get some cash, we were off to Walmart on a shopping spree.  It’s good to know that some things don’t change.  The greeter still stands in the way of getting a cart, the shoppers are all still fat, have at least five kids with snotty noses and always leave their carts blocking the aisles and the clerks still can’t operate a cash register or make change correctly.  It’s good to know that some things never change.

Then it was off to the Post Office – another bastion of efficiency and good customer service that never changes.  The good news is that now we have a fresh supply of Little Debbie Cakes and Diet Mr. Pib to enjoy along with our tubs of mail.  It’s always fun getting back into the American way of life, and speaking of that, tonight we’ll be acting like most good Americans and we’ll be out partying and drinking- it’s Friday, right?
