THE TROUBLE WITH FAMILY IS THAT THEY'RE RELATED!

THE WEEKEND!  We've been in Sacramento (where dreams go to die) since Friday, but now it's Sunday and we're outta there!  We hung around the always gray capital city so long for two reasons.  First because we were beat and dead tired after fighting wind, hail and snow across the Sierras.  The second reason is because we both grew up in Sacramento and have family to visit that we left behind when we joined the circus in junior high school.

Family is an interesting concept..  Basically they are people that you would never know except for DNA.  They're sorta like the people you meet in weekend lockup when you're hauled in because of some damn paternity test!  Trust us - it's all about DNA.  Anyway, we have cousins and aunts and uncles and brothers and other purported members of the bloodline all hanging around various trailer parks in Sacramento.  It's good to see 'em all, but we always feel so bad asking them for money - until they give it to us!

Folks, after a few days of eating free home cookin' we took the Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour (sponsored by Budweiser) back on the road.  We cruised down part of the state and ended up on the Pacific coast in Monterey.  Ahhhhhh, give us the peace and quiet of a sleazy beachfront motel (and the yelling of crack whores when their pimps show up) anytime!  We've got a $29 room, a 12-pak of Budweiser and free HBO - now that's something to tell the family about!...

Brothers, kids, sisters - we asked them all for money!                      Another GREAT night at Texas Roadhouse!

The old neighborhood will never be the same after this!                   Okay, for $29/nite the bathroom is down the hall!
