DOROTHY - WE'RE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE!

THURSDAY!  We're not in Kansas, we're not in Missouri - WE'RE IN NEBRASKA, BABY!  It's our midwestern odyssey but you're all part of it.  This morning before we left St. Joseph, Missouri, we checked out the whole Jesse James "issue."  For those of you that failed 2nd grade history (or never watched TV westerns to catch a glimpse of Miss Kitty's petticoat), Jesse James was shot, killed and buried in St. Joseph.  His "friend" shot him in the back while he was straightening a picture in his home.  Now we've had friends shoot at us, but never when our backs were turned - they wanted us to know who was pulling the trigger!

Anyway, after paying $3 bucks each to tour his 3 room house (which was moved 7 miles from it's original location to downtown so tourists would tour it) we now know the whole story - all 3 rooms of it.  After our brief encounter with the wild west, the Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour (sponsored by Budweiser!) hit the road west into Kansas.  Our goal was to find Dorothy and buy her a beer or two - even Auntie Em' would've been a good time (or so we've heard), but we didn't find anyone.  No seriously, we mean we didn't find ANYONE!  Kansas is just corn and bugs - no people.

Once we figured out that our chance of meeting ANYONE in Kansas was less than winning the Lottery, much less getting lucky with them, we turned north and headed for Nebraska.  Can you say "Omaha?"  Can you say "Omaha Steaks?"  Yup, we're in  the home of "Meat by Mail,"  Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and Warren Buffet's hometown.  Now we're pretty sure we're not gonna hang out with Warren, but we think there's a good chance that after we've had a few ice cold Budweisers (and bought a few for local bored housewives) the "Wild Kingdom"  in all of us will come out...

They moved his house so tourists would come!                     This is "the" picture & the frame below is the bullet hole!

No Dorothy, No ANYBODY - It's Kansas!                               Nebraska, Omaha, It'll be a WIld Kingdom - trust us!
