IT'S THE "SHOW-ME" STATE - SOOOOOOO, SHOW US!
TUESDAY! St. Louis! Come on, this time say it with us, ST LOUIS! That's better. Yup, we're still in the "Gateway to the West" for a variety of reasons. First (and most important), there's a bar next to our motel (Motel 6, Baby!) we found last night that has Happy Hour until midnight and serves $1.50 bottles of ice cold Budweiser (still the proud sponsor of the Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour). Second, (and sorta important), we had a big, BIG meeting today with the suits & ties at Budweiser HQ here in St. Louis.
Okay, so here's a play-by-play account of us meeting with the corporate types. After the usual B.S. - "how's the ride going?, have you hit any bad weather?, does your sister put out?" (that was our question) - we got down to business. We were concerned that in addition to the usual suspects with titles like "Vice President of Important Sh_t," there also was a little weasel of a guy they introduced as "Assistant Corporate Counsel!" Folks, if we knew they were bringing a lawyer we would've had our night school educated Public Defender on the speaker phone. As it turned out, he was just there for the fruit plate and cold cuts - typical!
Anyway, they basically said we can keep riding, and they basically said they liked the results they were getting on the web and they basically said "NO F'ING WAY!," when we asked for an advance on our August check and a bonus for a job well done. Then we slipped a note to one of the V.P.'s on which we had written the name of a Budweiser secretary, the name of a motel about two blocks away, his home phone number and his wife's name. Look, we didn't take the "Dare to Be Great" negotiating seminar at the Holiday Inn last year for nothing!. Soooo, at that point he immediately started coughing, suggested reconsideration of a bonus, told us we could get the August and September checks today and smiled nervously at us. Hey, it's the "Show-Me" state, right?...

OH YEAH! We're in St. Louis , Baby! Stacy stormed into our sponsor's corporate offices!

Kevin created a diversion - who knew there were cameras! 32,000 gallons per tank - good for an hour or so!

The Riding4Beer crazies are putting on quite a show for their sponsor! Budweiser is really getting their money's worth. Where else would you get a couple of carnival clowns to represent your beer like these silly bastards do? But Dou know you gotta love em. Ride safe!

Kevin and Stacy, I love the website. Thanks for stopping by and visiting us at the brewery. You made it fun here at Headquarters. Look up my friend Julie while in North Dakota. Take Care and ride safe.
Your chaperone,
Jackie
