SATURDAY!  Actually, we should call it Saturate-Day.  The Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour (sponsored by the always friendly folks at Budweiser) pulled out of Allentown , PA this morning headed west and boy did we ride into it! By “IT” we mean a blinding rainstorm!  Folks, you know that we wouldn’t exaggerate in a million years, but we were passed by three different arks on the interstate.  When we finally sought cover under an overpass Noah was loading the final animals two-by-two (alpacas and dromedaries last).

Anyway, once the storm backed off to a dull roar we made it five more miles to Somerset, Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburg .  The incredible karma of it all (we have good karma now because we became Quakers in Philadelphia) is that there was a cheap motel with a vacancy (that would let us stay), a Dairy Queen down the street (as a reward for being good Quakers), a coin-op laundry next door (to dry our clothes) and a Ruby Tuesday Bar across the street (as a reward later tonight when we wanna be bad human beings). 

Sometimes, through clean living and being decent, things just work out fine.  Other times even pathological degenerates like us get a lucky too!  You’d think after paying $8.25 to ride just 72 miles on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (for which we’ll expect reimbursement from our generous sponsor, Budweiser)  they’d figure out how to keep it from raining.  What in the hell are we paying for anyway?  It’s certainly not road maintenance, we’ll tell ya that!  Anyway, as Quakers (at least until the Ohio border) we try not to live in the past, so in the near future (like in an hour or so) we see a Ruby Tuesday we see lots of ice cold Budweiser and we hope to see a few other degenerates that, like us, have the tools and talent!...
