"YO! ADRIAN!"
THURSDAY! Yup, we finally made it to Philadelphia! Everybody sing along with us, "da dada da dada da da da" (theme from "Rocky"). This is it! - the birthplace of the constitution, home to Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross and the Liberty Bell and it's where William Penn (America's first Quaker) invented instant microwave oatmeal in 1642! It's also pretty much the northern most point we're gonna reach on the East Coast so this is where we turn left and start heading west.
We rode here this morning from Gettysburg on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. For those of you loyal readers here in the east, you already know what turnpike is. For those of you in the west, think "Easy Pass" Toll Road and for those of you in the midwest just think about moving! Anyway, for just $9.10 (we'll be submitting a bill to our sponsor, Budweiser for reimbursement) we were able to ride 62 miles into Philadelphia on a sh_tty road. Cool, huh?
Folks, the history of our country (America, for those of you still working on your GED), is so accessible here - as it should be since we're all "created equal," right? Let's see, the Constitution Hall tour was $11, the Liberty Bell "walkby" was $3, Betsy Ross' house was $7.50 - just to look at Ben Franklin's gravestone was $2 bucks for God's sake! OH, believe it or not, our visit to Quaker meeting hall was free, but we did have to convert from Buddhism - small sacrifice, it's only a religion. The good news is that Wendy & Ron are our Tri-State Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour managers here in Philly and if we can get Wendy drunk enough there will definitely be cheesesteaks for all!...

Is that Kevin or is it Rocky? Yo! Adrian! The best part of Philadelphia is eating at the Public Market!

Does the name, "Liberty" ring a bell? It's FREE, the oatmeal is GREAT and the hats are COOL!

There they go again, entertaining the homes of America on the Riding4Beer Magcal Mystery Tour. They ride on giving much enjoyment to all us silly bastards, but we cannot help but love these two. Have fun.

The Pics look great and it seems Philly has some history.. I must put it on my list to go back to.........I was lst there in January but only transiting LA to Manchester.
Can I therefore say I have been? Must admit the aircraft approach comes right in over the river and you get to see the bridge and Navy Yards.
