WE WOULDN'T MISS ISSIPPI FOR ANYTHING!
MONDAY! We were up at the crack of dawn (around 11am), paid our motel owner (Mr. Patel - aren't they all named that?) and Memphis is now ancient history. It seemed like there was nothing else to do but ride south into the Mississippi Delta and into the heart of "blues country." After about an hour of riding we came to Clarksdale, Mississippi, which is known as the "crossroads of blues" because purportedly this is where the famous Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil to play the blues (do you care?). We sold our soul to the devil too, but all we got was a six-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a 10% discount card at Chester's Chicken Hut (now do you care?).
We ate lunch at a juke joint called "Ground Zero" (Morgan Freeman owns it - do you care?) and met up with four good ol' boys from Kentucky riding their Harleys home after a road trip to Texas. They'd left their wives and sisters (actually they're the same individuals) home and took to the road just like us on the Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour (sponsored by the "King of Beers" - Budweiser!), only they're not sponsored. During their week on the road they found out that it isn't just about cold beer, hot women and wild orgies. Sometimes the beer is warm! Anyway, they must be pretty good guys with high paying jobs back home because we lifted one of their VISA cards and called on it and it has a $500 (secured) limit (with $117.32 available). Thanks boys, we're staying upscale tonight at an Econolodge!
After lunch we continued south for another 30 miles or so to Cleveland, Mississippi where we're spending the night before jogging east a bit tomorrow to Greenwood and a radio interview on WABG, the "flamethrower" of the Mississippi Delta. Back in Clarksdale we'd met up with Lois (last name withheld due to "legal issues" - don't ask!) and she hooked us up with a guy named Poe who's gonna put on the radio tomorrow. Now we'd obviously rather be on TV (pay per view porn), but people can listen to the radio in their cars and not crash so it does have it's pluses! Folks, you can see this coming like a runaway freight train can't ya? WABG is gonna learn all about the FCC decency standards tomorrow - can you say, "wardrobe malfunction?"...

Does this picture even require a caption? Where's the guy's right hand on Kevin's left?

You gotta love a juke joint with couches on the porch! LOOK! We signed our name! We're FAMOUS!

You should have followed those guys to Kentucky. Imagine the fun you could have had helping them with their still, harvestng their tobacco and rebuilding a Chevy 350 engine!
You missed out!

Woke up at the crack of Dawn? Where did you meet her, with Tony Orlando? You guys need to be a little more discreet! Remember, you have standards. They're a little low, but you do have them. Ride safe!

Great to meet ya'll Monday, by the way the guy at Taylor's,in Oxford, never heard of you two, but they served us a cold one anyway, in your defense, Jason wasn't there. The Bartender did mention a couple who skipped out on a tab, I was going to cover you, but my Visa card was missing. Have fun, keep infusing(or confusing) others with your spirit, Good luck. Remember, " too fast to live, too young to die"
p.s. where can I find the leather water bottle holders, they looked useful and not ugly like a bolt on chrome ashtray or something.
Thanks
Mike

I was also one of the Kentucky guys. If you find your way to Western Kentucky look us up. Murray KY 42071. I've got a lake house you can stay at for a day or two. It's adjacent to a National Park and terrific riding. If you like it we can set up trades for the New Orleans place that you mentioned.
just sayin...
