THE ANSWER MY FRIEND IS BLOWIN' IN THE WIND!
SUNDAY! WHEW! Okay, it should be called recovery day and not just because we drank two 30-paks of Budweiser last night. By now you probably have all heard about the wind storm that blew through Palm Springs the last two days. It was the highest sustained wind speed ever recorded here. Let's just say it would make the three little pigs sell even their brick house. There was sh_t flying everywhere. And thank you all for not sending us any emails asking if we're okay - we're touched!
Look, 70mph winds are bad enough (just stick your head out of the window on the freeway) but imagine them carrying sand! Oh yeah, you not only forgot to send an email you forgot that we live in an f'ing desert, didn't you? Well, the good news is that we saved a bunch of money by just standing outside for a minute and getting free derma-brasion. The bad news is that most of the paint is gone from the front of our 1986 Taurus wagon (but then again now we're thinkin' "insurance claim!").
Folks we had to take refuge (yes there were actually mandatory evacuations in parts of Palm Springs) and we didn't particularly feel like laying around a high school gym on dirty cots with a bunch of screaming kids so we headed where we knew we'd be safe - the AMERICAN LEGION HALL! Oh you betcha! We're talkin' veterans, ice cold Budweiser (sponsor of the upcoming Riding4Beer Magical Mystery Tour) and 25 cent hot wings! Safety, Baby! Anyway, after the wind calmed down to a dull roar of 30 or 40 MPH we headed over to the world famous Palm Canyon Roadhouse (on "the" Palm Canyon Drive, BABY!) because it was guest celebrity bartender night. It turns out that no celebrities showed up (chicken sh_ts!), but there were some GREAT guest bartenders and of course plenty of Budweiser....

70MPH+ winds bring a whole new meaning to "blow job!" Ah, safety and cold Budweiser at the American Legion!

The whole trailer park was evacuated to the Legion Hall! Roadhouse owner Greg with guest bartender, Tara (firma!)

We have been enjoying your posts and wanted to touch base. This is your formal invitation to stay with us on your US tour this summer. We are about 40 miles east of Oklahoma City on Interstate 40 and then 10 miles south. Plenty of room for both of you and your bike to rest and relax. When we drive to New Orleans it is about 11 hours. Hope you work us into your travel plans. Just let us know when you think you will be here and we will plan accordingly.
