IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED - TRY MANAGEMENT!

FRIDAY!  Yup, it's here already and just in time.  As you all know (okay some of you don't watch the Weather Channel) it rained here in Palm Springs yesterday.  Now that's a rare occurrence since it only rains on average about 6 days a year here (suck it up you fools that live where it snows!).  Since water falling from the sky doesn't happen very often in these parts, and even when it does it's only a light mist, a real rain like yesterday's causes plugged downspouts and gutters (uncleaned for literally years) to overflow.

Normally we wouldn't care about places flooding because of lack of maintenance (lazy bastards!), but when it happens at the world famous Palm Canyon Roadhouse (on Palm Canyon Drive, BABY!) we spring into action.  We were on the SunLine bus coming back from the free clinic (you gotta love that Oxycotin!) when we spied the owner, Greg, out front on a ladder in the rain clearing the gutters and downspouts.  Well, we immediately got off the bus, went to the Roadhouse, called our trailer park manager Lowell and ordered a few Budweisers while we waited for him to finish his Hamburger Helper and show up..

Look, we're in "management."  We don't "do" work, we "manage" workers.  Lowell arrived within minutes and immediately began helping Greg clear the blockages and avert a flooding of the bar.  We're glad he did because it would have been a real pain to wade through flood water to order another Budweiser.  Anyway, while Lowell was outside playing in the rain, his cellphone rang inside with a call from his wife Marsha at home in the mobile home park.  Now we're not saying what we talked about, but with Lowell still outside we quickly drove over to his trailer and spent the afternoon warm, free from flooding, eating leftover Hamburger Helper and drinking ice cold Budweisers with Marsha.  You just gotta love being in management...

Lowell helped so he could get free food from Luis (also management)  Meanwhile Lowell's wife Marsha was home in a steamy shower!
