WEDNESDAY!  Okay, Okay, It’s a late post – But there are reasons – SOLID REASONS!  First, we’re in Barcelona (That’s in Spain – now don’t you wish you’d paid attention in 4th grade?) and while it’s a large, modern, cosmopolitan, etc., etc. city – the Spanish haven’t quite figured out the internet.  Actually they have figured it out, but we refused to pay $20 an hour for a connection at our hotel (NOT KIDDING!).  As a consequence of us being cheap bastards this post was uploaded from an internet cafe located on the Calle de Equincio Del la Quinto Este me ah Coolo Boulevard (or some street like that) in between playing f’ing space invader games with a dozen teenagers.

Folks, let’s say it again – BARCELONA!  Okay, let’s try it in English this time, CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS!  That’s right, it was in this city in the 1400’s that good ol’ Chris talked Queen Isabella out of her pantaloons and out of enough money to float his boat (technically boats – the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria – COME ON, didn't you learn anything in grade school?).  Let’s just say that in spite of Amerigo Vespucci drawing it on a map and calling it “America,” it all started here.

Okay, enough history let’s talk 2008.  Better yet, let’s talk the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour!  We’ve been on the road now for about six or seven weeks, we’ve covered about 20,000 miles, we’ve been in about 15 countries, we’ve been arrested in six and deported from three.  If you are keeping score (and who doesn’t wanna “score?”), that’s not a bad start, but we still have many more miles to cover, plenty of more countries in which to test law enforcement and right now we’re in Barcelona, it’s time for a siesta and some ice cold Budweiser – not necessarily in that order…
