THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND HANGOVERS BEGINS WITH A SINGLE BEER!
IT'S TUESDAY AND TODAY IS THE DAY! Yup, the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour HAS BEGUN! By the time you read this we'll be off on our 80 day journey around the world sponsored by the "King of Beers" - Budweiser! That means that in addition to getting free t-shirts from them they also pay for our beer - YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT DEAL! Our first stop is Shanghai, China, but American Airlines isn't making that easy.
Our air route to the Far East works like this: Palm Springs to Dallas; Dallas to Chicago; spend the night in Chicago in some crack-hole hotel and then... tomorrow morning, Chicago to Shanghai! We didn't ask why we were routed this way but the tickets were FREE (thank you American Airlines, another contributing sponsor to the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour), so just like the entire journey before us, we'll accept what is given us, we'll graciously say, "thank you" and then we'll run like Hell before they catch on!
Speaking of catching on, there's a few things as readers that you'll need to catch onto as well. First and foremost, this trip is all-inclusive and is for and about all of you participating (except that only we get to do the traveling and beer drinking!). That means that as you read our daily ramblings you should post your ideas, observations and thoughts as well. You probably know a heck of allot more about what we're seeing anyway! Second, while you may be accustomed to our posts coming out each day in the late afternoon, as we stagger our way around the world on the other side of the International Date Line (did you know that's not a 900 number?) they'll be showing up at all sorts of odd hours because of the vast time differences. And finally, there may be days without posts if we are unable to get internet or satellite access (like we're in jail, detained at a border crossing for smuggling, or just too plain hungover to write anything). Folks, the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour has begun and we'll see what tomorrow brings...

Kevin found the perfect luggage to ship himself in! Stacy somehow got 86 lbs into a 4" x 4" suitcase!

We figured we just sell our trailer until we got back! Goodbye Palm Springs - see ya in 80 days!

Hey you guys - good luck. Will look forward to your reports along the way.
Hey, while you're in China, can you pick me up some Egg Foo Yung. Should be able to get it from any street vendor. It should last the trip, and not spoil by the time you get back!
