HONK IF YOU LOVE PEACE AND QUIET!

WEDNESDAY! - HUMP DAY!  You can't ignore it because you're either halfway through the week and over the hump, or you don't have a job (like us) and can lay around on the sofa-sleeper and h_mp!  Either way it's a damn fine day to be alive and that is sooooo much better than reading your name in the obituaries - we hate it when that happens!

Today we were jarred awake by the pounding of the UPS guy on our trailer door at the un-fathomable hour of 11am!  He had a UPS Letter (oxymoron - UPS=United Parcel Service, not United Letter Service - that would be ULS!).  It was 1,600 Chinese Yuan for the upcoming Riding4Beer World Tour (beginning June 10 - shameless self promotion!).  Our first stop (and the only planned reservation on the 80 day around the world trip) is Shanghai, China, so we figured it'd be good to have a little WAM ("walking around money") when we step off the plane - at least enough to get a bottle or ten of Tsing Tao beer anyway.  1,600 Yuan is about $250 U.S. dollars, (enough for a night of drinking at least!) so to earn it Stacy took a part-time job at a club - but that only lasted a week until they fired her for giving away too many free samples.

After Shanghai the rest of the itinerary for the trip is more wide-open than a West Virginia Love Tunnel.  Once we step off that plane in China we have no idea where we're going or how we're gonna get there.  All we do know is that 79 days later a plane ticket will be waiting in Amsterdam to fly us back to L.A. - but in between is 27,000 miles of China, Siberia, Mongolia, Russia, North Africa, Eastern & Western Europe.  We'll probably need a whole lot more than 1,600 Yuan to make it around the world in 80 days, but Stacy can always get another club job somewhere in Russia or we can go on public assistance in Ulan Bator (imagine what the food stamps look like in Mongolia).  Either way, we're not worried about the trip - and you'll be able to see our daily adventures right here on this website - but we are worried about where our beer is coming from tonight since we're not sure they take Yuan in Palm Springs...

We can't wait to try this "funny money" in Palm Springs!             Stacy took a part-time job to make the extra cash!

And the moms don't even charge like at the club!                         Here's the rough idea, but subject to massive change!

Kevin and Stacy-Seeing that you are facing a shortage of funds for this monumental trip, we thought that you might need more sponsors than those you will find on Palm Canyon Drive (yeah, we know,  the famous PALM CANYON DRIVE). So in addition to The Roadhouse and Coors Light we have a few more suggestions: The Betty Ford Clinic, Alcoholics Anonymous , The Watershed, The Hanley Center. If none of those wonderful institutions will help , Bob on the corner has said he will donate his bottle of Thunderbird towards the trip so you can trade with others on your way. If all else fails go to the Federal Government. They give grant money for the study of everything else, so why not the migratory habits of two drunks from Palm Springs?
We hope these few suggestions help you on your way towards completing your journey.
    Keep smiling and have fun!
