THE TALLEST BLADE OF GRASS ALWAYS GETS CUT BY THE MOWER FIRST!

It's WEDNESDAY! - but how many of you think it feels like Monday because all you did yesterday was lay around watching football eating Velveeta Bowls and L'il Smokies?  Well, we laid around too.  We watched football on our stolen cable hookup from the guy in the trailer two spaces down and we snacked on fried Spam (it came in the Christmas basket we got from the Salvation Army).  Anyway, there's big news in our transportation lives!

Last week we had a minor mishap with our car.  Kevin was eating Cheetos while driving back from Walmart and when he took his hands off the wheel (to wipe the yellow stuff off his fingers onto his pants), a desert rabbit ran across the road.  He tried steering after it with his thighs (roadkill jackrabbit is good eatin') but when he left the pavement the front wheels lodged in the sand and the car rolled.  The good news is that the car was insured through the California "Assigned Risk" pool, so guess what - NEW CAR!

We had the Taurus insured for it's full replacement value, so we pretty much had our choice of anything listed in the "Wheels & Deals" magazine stacked by the door down at the 24hr SnackMart.  We found a GREAT car and the seller even paid for us to have a new front seat installed since the old one still had deer blood stains on it (don't ask).   The car was in New Mexico (which for the record is neither "New" or "Mexico") so we made them truck it over because we didn't want the extra miles driving down it's resale value.   Folks, 2008 has started out GREAT for us and it's only two days old!  Tomorrow is the first Friday Eve of the new year and we'll definitely be celebrating...

After he rolled, Kevin crawled out without the Jaws of Life!                      Kevin didn't even spill his beer in the crash!

We made them truck our new car to save on mileage.                   They even threw in a new front seat of our choice!

God bless you two.  You could have been seriously injured or killed in that crash.  We really liked your old car, it had a nice ride and we will always remember taking trips to the beautiful Salton Sea resorts in it.  Here we go again - we cannot help but love you two.

Thank God your alright! That crash could have been the end of our leader. What would we have done then? Think up this stuff ourselves? Boy that was close!
