Wednesday morning and the banging was way too loud to be the hooker's headboard in the room next door hitting our wall (like it does about every 90 minutes).  Nope - it was the hotel manager at our door yelling something in Spanish (why can't he speak broken English like everyone else trying to sell us something around here?).  It turns out that he figured out we weren't Gary & Lucinda Meister from Ontario, Canada and we were being kicked out of their room.  Well actually, we were being kicked out of the hotel.  Since we never paid to stay here it was no big loss, but we will miss the hooker next door -she had a friendly smile if you know what we mean.

Anyway, we went totally "native," hopped on a local bus (sort of like riding the "Zipper" at the county fair!) and headed out to find a new hotel.   As fate would have it, we got on the bus just as the Federales arrived to arrest us, so like they say - "timing is everything in life!"  We escaped to the South with easily five seconds to spare.  Our bus driver (truly a man of wisdom and stature in the community) recommended his cousin Rosa's hotel right in downtown Puerto Vallarta - and he even detoured the bus to drop us right in front!

Okay, you won't believe this, but remember the hooker from the last hotel?  Rosa is her mother!  Folks, we live a charmed life!  First we miss the Federals and their bogus arrest warrant for us by five seconds and now we're staying with Rosa - and because we're actually paying for the room (10 pesos a night with clean sheets every week), we get a discount on services from her daughter!  Mexico is definitely the place for us!  Tonight we're off to find some cantina and celebrate our good fortune, but tomorrow...
