PALM SPRINGS WEATHER? - "CHILI TODAY and HOT TAMALE!

Yes, it's Saturday, but first let's talk about FRIDAY!  Okay, you all know we live in Palm Springs, California - land of perpetual sunshine, Botox parties and the Sonny Bono Downhill Ski School, but let's focus on the "perpetual sunshine" part.  In an average year it rains about six days (not kidding - that's in an entire year!) and the total rainfall for an ENTIRE YEAR is usally about half an inch.  Also, this time of year our average daily temperatures are about 75-80 degrees (see, now you have even more reasons to hate us - WE LIVE HERE!).

Big deal, so what you say?  Well, thanks to Al Gore, Global Warming, El Nino, and Brittany Spears (Brittany Spears?) it rained here yesterday and it was cold!  Look, this is not what we signed up for and it's not what we pay high taxes for! (okay we defaulted on our taxes, but you get the point!)  Anyway, the high temperature for the entire day yesterday was only 51 degrees - and the storm brought over an inch of rain! (FYI - that's two years worth of water from the sky).  And you know what? All of you sad folks living sad lives where it snows, is foggy, or rains allot - don't send us a bunch of emails saying we're "babies," or "whinners," (or whinner babies!) - WE HAD THE FORESIGHT AND THE MOTIVATION to put the wheels back on our double-wide and tow it out here with our cousin's 4x4, and now we feel soooooo ripped off!

But guess what?  That was yesterday and we try not to live in the past.  Hell, most of the time we can't even remember last hour, much less yesterday!  Today is Saturday, the rain is gone, the clouds are gone and it's gonna be....ah........about 75 degrees under clear blue skies!  Now that's what we're talkin' about! -  like the title says, "chili today and hot tamale."  Speaking of tamales, it's the Indio Tamale Festival today (not kidding - the largest corn masa convention in the free world) and after having to play Chutes & Ladders, CandyLand and Yahtzee inside all day yesterday, we definitely are in a corn husk mood...

This is NOT what we signed up for!           ...but, oh what a differeance a day makes - this is why we pay high taxes!

An inch of rain in the desert and it's TOTAL devastation!         Just like 3rd grade - no recess and we played indoors!

We see you silly bastards are singing in the rain!  You needed to cool off in that desert.  We are basking in a 23 degree heatwave now with a major snowstorm and we are having happy hour.  What can we say, We cannot help but love you two.  Have a great weekend.
