So here's the deal - WE  HAD TO GET OUT OF BED WHILE IT WAS STILL DARK!  Realize that we are accustomed to just getting into bed when it's becoming light, but out of bed before sunrise?  Kevin signed up for some God-awful half marathon running from downtown Palm Springs up Mt. San Jacinto to the Aerial Tramway station.  Let's just say two things: 1.  It wasn't pretty, but;  2. HE FINISHED! - ALIVE!  Enough said, but then after the race he met up with some guy dressed like...ah....er....a Ram? and as usual, we were asked to leave by the Palm Springs P.D.

The day continued after that in sort of peculiar manner.  Our car broke down on the way back from the race and we really don't understand it because we just had some new (refurbished) parts put on at PEP Boys.  We suspect the "refurbished" water pump probably wasn't even "furbished" to begin with.  Anyway, 1989 is getting a bit old for a four door Ford Taurus, so we just pulled the license plates (and the VIN plate on the door jamb) off and left it where it died.  The good news is that we picked up one of those free car ad trader magazine things stacked by the door at the 7-11 and got a new car before the day was over.  It only cost $500 and Stacy thinks she can get all of the stains out of the back seat and we're gonna put some leopard stretch seat covers on the front ones - so the whole PEP boys thing turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

The day ended with a bunch of our friends arriving on their motocycles and tearing up the trailer park where we live.  They were riding on the sidewalks, popping wheelies and in general doing what motorcycle people do best - have fun!  We provided the alcohol and the afternoon soon became evening, then became night, then.....it's all really just a blurrrrrr after that.  The good news is that tomorrow is Sunday and it's FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL...
