REMEMBER AMATEURS MAY HAVE BUILT THE ARK, BUT PROFESSIONALS BUILT THE TITANIC!
It's not just Monday, it's a HOLIDAY! And not just any holiday, but Columbus Day! Folks, we gotta tell ya, other than Arbor Day this is probably our favorite holiday. We love all the decorations, the festivities, the expressions on little kid's faces. Oh, and the eggnog - it's to die for! WE LIVE FOR THIS STUFF, so of course we planned a Columbus Day party for the whole trailer park - then disaster struck.
We'd lined up the clubhouse here at the park and everyone was excited about it being a pot-luck. The folks with the Airstream back by the fence were bringing potato salad, we were gonna run the barbeque and the retired sailor in the green double-wide said he'd bring a "hot dish" (we were hopeful - if you know what we mean!) Anyway, Kevin got a little carried away with lighter fluid on the barbeque. Actually, he wasn't using lighter fluid, he was using gasoline (cheaper and a hotter flame!) and man you should have seen the explosion when he poured that on the hot charcoal. It exploded like a half full Coke bottle stuffed with Good-n-Plenty Candies!
The good news is that the trailer park has insurance on the clubhouse so it'll be rebuilt better than ever. We also got our 1/10,000 scale replica Nina, Pinta & Santa Maria collector boats in the mail on Saturday from the Franklin Mint and we saved them from the fire. That's good too because we still have three more monthly payments of $19.95, but by next year they should be worth allot more ("...similar limited edition collector items have gone up substantially" Franklin Mint). All things considered, it was an exciting day - definitely a Columbus Day we'll remember. Tomorrow is Tuesday (nothing day), but we're certain to find trouble somewhere...

Everything was going fine until the gasoline exploded! We planned on playing strip Yahtzee at the party.

At least the clubhouse was covered by insurance. Our replica collectors edition Santa Maria (actual size!)
