REMEMBER - TRAFFIC LIGHTS TIMED FOR 35 MPH WORK AT 70 MPH TOO!
Wednesday - HUMP DAY! We guess everyone calls it that because it's halfway through the week and they're halfway through with working. Since we don't have jobs the concept is sorta lost on us - so we prefer to use Hump Day to...... well you get the idea. Actually, Wednesday is the day we always get serious about exercise. It's a few days after the weekend (so we've recovered) and it's a few days before the next weekend (so we have time to get in shape). It's Hump Day!
Working out is expensive, and since we don't get our check from the county until Friday, we usually have to figure out a way to get the money to buy a day pass at the health club. Today the weather was fairly moderate so we went "dumpster diving." A few quick hours and we had several trash bags full of aluminum cans and plastic soda bottles - just enough to take to the recycling center and pay for our day passes. We used to each sell a pint of blood at the Red Cross, but then we were usually too weak to work out, so the recycling "gig" is better. Besides, we put a spoon full of dirt in every can before we crush it so that way it doesn't take as many to make a pound.
At the gym we both hit treadmills and started our runs. Kevin did okay considering he had it set pretty fast. He logged almost half a mile in about an hour and watched an entire rerun episode of Law & Order on TNT. It's amazing the kind of shape he's in! Stacy had a minor mishap when her treadmill got stuck on 20 mph. She kept up with it for a minute or two, but then it sent her flying like a chewtoy from a Doberman. She wasn't injured, but the good news is that the gym was so afraid we'd sue that they gave us free passes for a month! No more blood donations, no more dumpster diving - we're "uptown" now! And better yet, tomorrow is Thursday, which is officially Friday Eve. We'll be out on the town (which is always trouble) so.....

Does this mean Wednesday, or does it mean.... A few hours diving and we had the cash we needed!

Next stop - a Presidential Fitness Award! Stacy kept up at 20 MPH for a few minutes!

It is a good thing Stacy is in such good shape or she could have been seriously hurt. Hey we thought that dumpster diving was our gig except I wish it was only to get day passes. We do it to pay the mortgage. We find the best days are Monday or Tuesday before the truck comes....sometimes you can find a good meal as well....see you soon!!
