HARD WORK MAY PAY OFF IN THE FUTURE - BUT LAZINESS PAYS OFF NOW!
The day started out.....uh....well....sorta.....ah.....HOT! Not that the weather is unusually hot - it's actually a cold spell here in Palm Springs - only 100 degrees max. But there was something just not quite right about the inside of our double-wide this morning! It was HOT! It was TOO hot considering we just got a new energy efficient air conditioner free from SoCal Edison under thier low income "lifeline" program. (yes, we also get free cheese and butter from the USDA with our fake social security numbers too - BIG DEAL - they only give away cheddar, not Gouda; and the butter is unsalted! - cheap governement bastards!). Anyway our brand new free, A/C was ON FIRE!
Ok, we're not kidding here. Apparently where we hooked up the power wires we ran from the trailer park clubhouse (come on - they don't need all that power!) got a little overheated (guess we should have used something else for 220 instead of speaker wire, huh?). The whole junction box literally melted! Well as you can imagine, we were on the phone to the utility right away screaming about them ripping off God-fearing low income folks like us, and the danger we faced because of their A/C unit. We don't care if it was free. If our trailer went up we'd lose our entire collection of Franklin Mint NASCAR Collector plates, and they aren't even advertised in Parade Magazine anymore!
Well, all the yelling paid off BIG! They not only sent a guy out to fix it IMMEDIATELY, they also gave us a $200 credit on our utility bill (and remember, we weren't even using our electricity anyway!). So feeling rich, we headed to the store to stock up Guy & Cary for their flight back to Wisconsin. Next we stopped for lunch at the Indian Casino Buffet and then saw our friends off at the airport. Look, days like today don't come along often, especially when they're paid for by a public utility! We'll be halfway through the week tomorrow and we still have some of that SoCal Edison money left over - wonder where we'll spend it....

Our Utility rep shows us the right way to steal power! Premixed Budweiser & Clamato - Our kind of store!

Those little vodka bottles on the plane never last! Thank you SoCal Edison - Thank you Morongo Tribe!

We just spent 4 days with these 2 people partying and we think they are a couple of kooks. I do not know where these people came from but you can not help but love them. The next time we vacation in California, Kevin and I are going to party with everyone we see. Thanks for your hospitality.
guy and cary.
