"...THEY HAD MORE GUNS THAN THEY HAD TEETH!"
Ok, it doesn't get any better than this! We have an orange cone in our driveway (stolen fair & square from a nearby construction site) to keep the garbage trucks from the landfill next door from turning around and messing up all the gravel. Anyway, we all woke to a huge scraping noise as one of them hit the cone (which we had cleverly lined with steel rebar!) and started dragging it down the street with it's radiator spraying everywhere. The folks from the waste management company were pretty pissed off and wanted us to pay for the damage, but we just asked 'em why they were driving their truck on our gravel. End of discussion.
Since we were all up we figured we'd go out for lunch. The food wasn't that good, but it did put us way down the Valley, so while we were there we just kept heading East and South. We ended up at the Salton Sea - home to some of the best real estate values anywhere in Southern California. We looked at several mobile homes - some were real values since they used to be meth labs and the smell was even pretty much gone. We're telling you all, THINK SALTON SEA!
Guy owns a furniture store back in the midwest, and he's been thinking about expanding, so the Salton Sea may be just the place. He found a GREAT piece of commercial property that only needs a little touch up paint and he can open right up. Let's just say that this could be the big break that he's been looking for his entire life. It's golden opportunity to expand his Wisconsin furniture business from the closed gas station he's in now and also move to a beautiful area of California. Folks, we're changing lives here - one midwesterner at a time. Speaking of time - Guy & Cary have run out of it and are flying back to Green Bay first thing tomorrow morning, but we'll still be here, so check in for Tuesday's fun and games...

The "famous" cone and our freshly raked driveway. Cary just loved her lunch - bugs & all!

Guy has found the IDEAL property for his store. Loading up for the celebration - we may need a 2nd cart.

Cary - very nice choice of beer! Careful though, I hear it's pretty potent stuff! You four are having wayyyy too much fun without us. You're going to need another vacation just to properly recover!

We could not sleep last night. I hope nobody ends up buying that property that I want buy at the Salton Sea. I have got to quickly close on that property because we want to have the grand opening of the furniture store in October. We do not know how we are going to thank Kevin and Stacy for giving us the tip on this fine property.
guy and cary.
