BEND (over), OREGON!
We were up and out of Jason & Theresa's house before the sun was even up! (LIE!) OK, we were up and out of Jason & Theresa's house before lunch - how about that? Before we left we took their cat and put him in Jason's car and pushed a suspcious button labled "Cat Folder" to see what would happen. Let's just say we left immediately after what we saw. We rode quickly down the left side of Washington and turned inland at the Columbia River crossing over to the Oregon side hoping that animal cruelty charges can't be lodged across state lines - but in all fairness he's the one that had the stupid button in his car! We stopped for a quick hike up some waterfalls and that's when the already bad day started collapsing even faster.
It seems as though there was some scout troup (girl scouts) also visiting the falls, and when we got to the viewpoint it wasn't pretty. They were running around yelling and laughing - TOTALLY disrupting the mood of solitude and oneness with nature. Kevin pushed one of them into the pool below the falls and another one of them started yelling for their scoutmaster. The next thing you know, a ranger arrives and throws us out of the park. HE THREW US OUT and it was the scouts that were laughing and yelling. We didn't argue, but certainly we won't be mentioning the falls when we're asked onto the Oprah show!
We headed south from there and ended up in Bend (over), Oregon. After stopping at several motels and being told they had no vacancies (yeah, right - Bend, Oregon on Monday night? You gitta be kidding!) we finally got a room at the Best (Worst) Western. It is the most expensive room we've had in our two months on the road. Better yet, their "free" wireless internet doesn't work and they wouldn't let us use their office computer to write this post. We are literally sitting down the street outside of the Days Inn stealing their internet signal. NOT KIDDING! Anyway, we know that people in Oregon don't like Californians, but guess what? We don't like Oregon's waterfalls, it's hotels, or even it's state flower (whatever that is!). Tomorrow, we will be outta here early and hopefully posting from another state...

Why would anyone want to fold their cat? Us getting out of Seattle FAST after the cat incident.

Mt Hood - which is confusing - shouldn't it be Hood Mount? Stacy at the Falls before the scout trouble.

Be aware that the California border patrol has been notified about your pending arrival back to California. If they can keep Mexicans from crossing the southern boarder they should be able to catch you. I really shouldn't be telling you this after the way you left our mint condition Gremlin(the stains still won't come out, maybe we need a Tide stick) . Since our daughter has made a complete recovery and the doctors feel there won't be permanent damage ( although they have told her not to watch American Chopper, once her favorite show because of the that sex symbol of a guy Mikey)we wanted to warn you because we are thinking of royalties when you publish. Maybe then we can have our Gremlin restored to its original pristine condition. Be safe and THANK YOU!

Salutations and Congratulations!! Thanks to the recent 'cat folder' incident, and some rather incriminating pictures taken by your "friends" in Oregon, the ASPCA has joined the inter-agency cooperative task force tracking your movements. From what I've seen on Animal Planet's 'Animal Cops', I believe your days of unfettered beer drinking and rabble-rousing (is that a word??) are nearly over. Huzzah! I'm no Stephanie Plum, but I think even I could manage to find you two, what with the excellent map you have provided...and I'm not concerned that you might flee the country. After speaking with officials on both borders (Mexico AND Canada, remember?) and horrifying them with the details of your "Tour of Terror," there's no way you'll be able to cross now.
Now, now, no need to thank me. I take my satisfaction in a job well done

Folding cats now, hmmmm??? And throwing laundry against the wall...I think you might have it backwards. But again, what the hell do I know...it only took me 6 years to get my 2, um, I mean 4 year degree (thank you public education). Glad to hear you made it back into Ca without any "girl scouts" tagging along Kevin. You know, as I remember, there was that incident back in 1999 where you were caught with a questionable minor. I just don't want to see history repeating itself...
