Let's see - morning was in Madison, Wisconsin, and for once it was relatively uneventful.  We had cleverly checked in under a fake name and put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door.  In all the confusion with the front desk staff and the local police we were able to slip out of town at a leisurely pace.  We rode the interstate for 30 to 40 miles and then turned northwest on U.S. Highway 12.  For the next seven hours we would ride though field after field looking at barn after barn and smelling cow after cow.  Yes, it was beautiful, but after the first 100 miles or so we both fell asleep and didn't know it for the next 200 miles!

Where did we end up?  Sad but true folks - Minneapolis-St. Paul!  Yep- and we double checked every bridge before we crossed them.  As an editorial note here - while we could make a whole lot of jokes about Minnesota Bridge Safety - what happened yesterday was an absolute tragedy and our heartfelt sympathies go out to those affected.  Enough said on that topic.

So why are we in Minneapolis-St. Paul?  A very good question that we have asked ourselves several times during the past few hours.  Actually, we heard that the Super 8 here was...uh.....er.....SUPER, and since we have to ride generally west at this lattitude to get to Sturgis, South Dakota next week anyway, we figured why not?  Well as it turns out, the Super 8 here is pretty....well.....uh......SUPER!  Yea that's it!  And the food in the hallway vending machine is virtually gourmet.  Tomorrow we have BIG plans for this town so stay tuned and you won't believe it!
