OSHKOSH - B'GOSH!

Another day, another fast escape.  This time someone came looking for us from the bar we were in last night.  I guess telling the bartender we were with them and having our beers charged to their VISA card got them angry.  So much for midwestern hostipality.   It's probably not that we drank so much, but since we weren't paying we were buying drinks for everyone at the bar for most of the night.  Sad as it is, we said goodbye to ElkHart, Indiana and continued heading west.

We cruised into Chicago just about noon and by the time we negotiated the freeways, skyways, toll roads, turnpikes and interstates, we'd traveled 15 miles and it was 2pm.  We stopped for lunch at a service plaza on another toll road, this time heading north.  The entire process of getting from Indiana to Wisconsin required us driving 48 miles in Illinois, during which time we paid over $15 in tolls, drove on 17 different roads and were flipped off more times than in L.A.

Did you notice that we said we turned north?  YUP!  We rode through Milwaukee (birthplace of our Harley) and continued all the way to OshKosh (just south of Green Bay).  We have friends (Guy & Carrie) that live in Neenah, Wisconsin,  which is the poor man's suburb of OshKosh.  But, since it is the midwest, they have a very nice 17,000 square foot house on 50 acres with a private lake and dock that only cost them $37,500 a year ago.  The problem is, it's in Wisconsin!  Actually, they're currently GREAT friends, but that could change now that we're here for a few days.  Already the neighbors are complaining about us changing the bike's oil in the gutter, but we figure that's their problem if they don't respect their vehicles and keep 'em filled with fresh oil.   Guy & Cary weren't home when we got there so after we changed the oil we broke a window (a small one!) and let ourselves in.  Tomorrow is Sunday and we'll se what Guy & Carrie have in store for us...

Gary, Indiana is certainly a garden spot!                                                 Skyway?  Isn't this a ride at Disneyland?

They weren't home so Stacy found the beer while...   Kevin searched the medicine cabinet - you won't believe what they have!

    Hi Guys

Hope all is well out there on the road! I thought of you last night when I went to Dish in Memphis. Seems they still have not fixed the air conditioning. Nothing like a bunch of sweaty queens in $300 jeans.
    Ride safe - see ya
