IN BOSTON THEY PLAY A GAME CALLED, "HIDE THE CANOLLI!"

The day started with pouring rain, thunder, lightening, fog, hail, sleet, snow - it was a BLIZZARD!  Ok, it was a light rain and about 70 degrees, but we're from Southern California, remember?   Anyway, when we hit Boston it had been about 5,000 miles since we left Palm Springs and the Harley needed servicing.   So with Stacy off getting her nails done (East Coast Style!), Kevin headed over to the nearest Harley Shop to get the oil changed and to swap some lies with the staff.  As it turns out, the original (opened in 1947!) owner's daughter not only had better lies than Kevin, she even lifted the charge card number he gave her and used it to buy some rubber boots at the K-Mart down the street.   We didn't really care since we found the card at Bob & Marie's anyway, but it's the principle of it all!

Next it was off to Boston's "North End" for lunch with Bob & Marie.  It's the old Italian area of Bean Town and it was literally like being in a Godfather movie.  We wandered the streets eating whatever and wherever we wanted - basically leaving nothing but carnage in our wake.  The fun finally came to an end when we got kicked out of a bakery after challenging each other to a canolli eating contest and Bob ended up blowing Technicolor chunks all over the owner's dog.  We beat a hasty retreat to the car and left the "North End" literally one block ahead of the mob that had formed at the bakery.

We drove fast and furious to the other happening place in Boston - the Faneuil Hall area.  The "Hall" itself is just some old building from the 1700's that nobody outside of Boston has ever heard of, but area surrounding it is filled with bars and.....uh.....hmmmmm.....bars!  Since it was after 3pm (somewhere) and we were thirsty, we landed at the most famous bar in the world - CHEERS!   It all went downhill fast from there.  Kevin demanded to know where Norm was, Bob was still sick from the canolli eating contest and Stacy & Marie - well let's just say they were making moves on two sailers from the Phillipines.   Next thing we know, we're being tossed out the emergency exit and it wasn't even an emergency!  Just see if we ever watch those reruns on the TV Land channel again!   Anyway, with the true Boston experience in our memories to cherish forever, we returned home to Bob & Marie's promising to make tomorrow an even more exciting day!

Stacy was crowned Queen of the North End!                              Bob (we know he looks like Dan Ackroyd) & Marie.

It's not that "Modern," but the Canolli contest ended it!                      They'll hear from our "People" over this one!

I hope you took the opportunity during your stay in Boston to mock the local speech patterns and ask people repeatedly where you could "pahk" your "cah" and where there's good "chow-dah." It sounds like Bob and Marie are pretty nice, which prompts me to ask...why are they hanging out with you two??
