IT'S ALL ABOUT PRACTICE, TRAINING & CONDITIONING!

While the Riding4Beer trip is about "Riding" around America, meeting people and enjoying our country (BLAH, BLAH BLAH), let's not forget the other half of the name is "BEER!"  We already know how to ride, we already know how to meet people and we already know how to enjoy America - but drinking beer?

Okay, we do know how to drink beer too, but practice does make perfect, right?   Come on!  Barry Bonds doesn't just hit all those home runs without practicing does he? - Oh yeah I forgot, he doesn't practice, he just takes steroids instead.  But that's beside the point!  One can always improve their game and that's why with the start of the trip approaching (just a week away!) we're focusing on the "Beer" part of the trip now.  Palm Springs just didn't have the right training facilities for us - so we're in New Orleans this final week getting professional coaching at world class training facilities on Bourbon Street.   Drinking beer is allot like having sex, you can be really good at it, but you never get it perfect so you always have to do it again - over and over and over again.  Below are a few pictures of our beer drinking practice facilities here in New Orleans and our personal trainers.   The trip starts June 28 so we are now "Power Lounging" to make sure we peak at just the right time!

Paula and I were a little worried about how ready Kevin and Stacy were for the drinking section of this Ride....yes, they are good Riders...yes, they can meet people BUT the real question remained....can they drink beer to perfection on this ride.....it is wonderful to see them practicing their Beer Drinking in New Orleans (we have seen them drink beer in Palm Springs and, like everyone, they needed more beer drinking practice to become true professionals.)  Good luck in your practice you two and we hope to see you before you leave!....Paula & Don

I hope that you both appreciate the rigorous mental training that is also required.  I would suggest, to really get your heads in the game, watching reruns of 'The Simpsons' and frat house classics like 'Animal House' and 'Van Wilder.'  These educational programs will give you a real, substantial example of copious drinking at it's best. Good luck and stay strong.  Remember, even the most accomplished athlete can always improve by testing his limits.

Remember, become one with the beer grasshopper and you will walk the rice paper and snatch the pebble (or stumble across the street and dribble your beer). Continue your training and remember its the reps not the volume (or maybe not).

Having spent some time with both of you in New Orleans we can safely say you are ready to embark on this journey for beer. Knowing your vigorous training schedule first hand, we give you our blessing. Safe Travels!
