WHERE WILL WE GO? Here's the tentative route and a narrative below the map!

Beginning in Palm Springs, California (not Palm Springs, Florida!) the ride begins East across the deserts of California, Arizona, and New Mexico. It's always best to ride across the great deserts of the Southwest in July because while it may be blistering hot, at least it's dusty and windy too. As a side note - New Mexico is neither "New" nor "Mexico," but that's just our observation. Then dropping South we travel into the lone star state of Texas stopping in San Antonio to visit friends and the Alamo - where "Pie Alamo" was invented. Leaving Texas its South towards our second home in New Orleans, Louisiana. It's there we can regroup, spend a few days resting and make any necessary adjustments on the bike. Also, even though our second home is in the French Quarter in New Orleans, they don't know us very well there, so free beer is a distinct possibility!
From New Orleans, it's across the South to the Atlantic (with a side trip up North in Mississippi to Oxford - home of Ole' Miss and our friends Connie & Jason who are always good for at least a six-pack). Heading Southeast from Oxford we end up in Florida where we will not go to Disney World and we will not visit Burt Reynolds, but we will vote several times for President. Then it's up the East Coast through many historic Civil War (I mean the North's unspeakable act of agression) cities ending with friends in Annapolis, Maryland. Here we can again catch our breath, make any needed repairs on the bike and hopefully trick Ray & Debra into buying us some beer.
Leaving Maryland we continue North to Boston where we plan on raiding the bar of our good friends, Bob & Marie. If their kids are home we can send them over to the neighbor's to ask for more beer, otherwise we can just send Bob out to the store for more. Remember, this trip is not about the journey, it's about the beer! From Boston we head across Pencil-Vannia stopping along the way to visit friends in several Amish towns (hey, we like the way they dress, okay?). Then it's Ohio bound where Kevin's mom was born and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame resides. We know there is a connection between the two, so lets just leave it at that.
Racing across the Midwest we turn North (that would be "right" since we're now riding West which is "left" on the map) at Michigan and North along Lake Superior into Canada. (Does anyone really know the words to "Oh Canada," other than "Oh Canada?"). Looping around the top we plunge back into the good ole' U.S. of A and plan to rest for awhile with our currrently good friends (but that will change) Guy & Carrie in Green Bay, Wisconsin (actually Appleton, but it's close to Green Bay and you never heard of Appleton anyway!) There we'll make them take us boating because there is always a cooler of beer on their boat and we can probably sneak quite a few.
Now we are in the heart of the Midwest and its "Westward Ho' (as opposed to Eastern Ho's who tend to dress better) as we cruise thorugh Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota. The plan is to arrive in Southwestern South Dakota (say that real fast three times!) in Rapid City (which is the ultimate oxymoron) just in time for the annual Harley rally at Sturgis only a few miles away. We've been to it before but we'll try anything twice. Nobody will probably buy us any beer there, but at least it's cheap.
From Sturgis its across Montana (Where men are men, women are scarce and sheep are paranoid) , Idaho ("Famous Potatoes," we know) and into Washington. A quick stop in Walla Walla (which is the town they liked so much they named it twice and also where Kevin went to college until they caught him at it), across the state to the Pacific and Seattle - home of Jason, Theresa, Nordstroms and more free beer! Also, Jason has a motorcycle shop in his garage, and is pretty handy with a wrench (and also with a wench!), so he can fix up our bike while we watch and drink his beer.
From Seattle it's a quick ride down through Oregon and into Sacramento, California. Both Stacy & Kevin were raised here, so really no need to see the sites. Just visit relatives, tell them some lies and drink their beer. What else are you supposed to do in the town you were raised? Beating it out of town just ahead of members of the law enforcement community called by our relatives, we head East to the Sierras into Nevada briefly, then South through Mammouth Lakes, California and finally home to Palm Springs.
This whole fiasco should take a few months, but who knows. We may get a good offer for the bike in Arizona on the first day out, hop a cheap flight to Cabo and drink Mexican beer for the Summer.....you just never know. Also, realize that this is a very very loose itinerary. Kevin likes everything loose, his itineraries, the crotch of his pants and his women - but since this is a "G" rated website those stories will have to wait. If any of you have suggestions where we should visit for the beauty, or the history or the availability of free beer that we haven't thought of, please post a comment and we more than likely go there. Especially if it involves free beer!

Hey Guys-Nice plan. Some of the areas in the East that those of us with jobs have not yet seen are The Blue Ridge Mountains. The ride is suppose to be spectacular. Wouldn't plan to ride the whole thing ( Its almost 1ooo miles long) and there probably is no BEER only moonshine. Also the Amish country is more in the southeastern part of Penna.(I live in the state but can't spell it. Maybe I should move to Iowa) If you make it that far, the Phila. area near us has a lot of Revolutionary War history and some really old and cold BEER (all which have historical importance). We will follow your adventures on-line as you search the country looking for people gullible enough to buy you BEER(we are). Have a safe trip and enjoy yourselves. Remember some wise man once said "Its either a great time or a great story" (can't remember who said that or where we heard it, I think BEER was involved).
